No, one doesn't chase death, but why are people prepping? Are you prepping to reseed/repopulate the planet? Or, just want to be left alone? Life is hard.
As a child of the 70s/80s, I have spent time pondering where I'd want to be in the event of a Day After event. That movie really noodled my brain. Would I want to be in the city where a bright flash ended it all? Or, in the corn fields blinded by the light? Or, suffering from radiation sickness, disease, stress afterwards? Part of me wants to see the bright flash and be done. It would take decades to rebuild a society. Until then, you're looking at Mad Max. The TV show Revolutions captured what it may look like after nuclear annihilation.
Then, I look at today. If conspiracy is correct (Tenpenny, et. al.), would I want to live in a world where 40-80% die because we deployed a mRNA vaccine? I'm really not sure.
